We are looking for a passionate, proactive professional to join our team as Regional Officer, Water Stewardship and Sustainability. In this role, you will play a key part in advancing WWF-CEE’s water stewardship initiatives, leading thought leadership, and driving corporate engagement. You’ll also be instrumental in implementing the Living Danube Partnership, a groundbreaking collaboration with the Coca-Cola Foundation and System, to protect and restore one of Europe’s most iconic rivers.
Major responsibilities
Living Danube Partnership
• Monitor the progress on The Living Danube Partnership and contribute to evaluation and reporting; help develop and maintain document repository and templates for the project team
• Support and follow-up workshops, meetings, and research efforts, including data analysis and co-developing reports and presentations.
• Provide logistical support for project activities such as conferences, steering committee meetings, events, etc.
• Contribute to the development and production of communication materials
Corporate Engagement and Water Stewardship Project administration and management
• Contribute to the development and implementation of WWF-CEE’s strategy for engaging business with corporate sustainability on freshwater
• Provide administrative and content support for the implementation of existing projects with corporates, and development of potential new projects with corporates (content, budget)
• Support in finalisation of due diligence-related process
• Support corporate engagement through research and due diligence of potential partners
• Contribute to the development and production of communication materials
• Provide overall administrative support
The ideal candidate would have
• 5 years of work experience; 1-3 years of experience related to sustainability or water stewardship
• Experience with project implementation, coordination and reporting
• Understanding of conservation and sustainability issues; familiarity with and interest in current EU-level and global tendencies in sustainability
• Strong writing skills, ability to prepare summaries in a good quality
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) and in one other language of the region (Bulgarian, Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian or Ukrainian)
• Strong computer literacy (Excel, cloud solutions and shared drives; text editing; optional: Canva or other design tools, GIS experience are a plus)
• Proactive attitude and ability to work with limited supervision; team player attitude
• Analytical thinking, good coordination and organizing skills, able to manage tight deadlines

The following would be an advantage:
• Knowledge of and experience with freshwater, water resources and/or water stewardship
• Experience working in remote / virtual teams
• Intercultural awareness and sensitivity, ability to work effectively in multicultural and virtual teams
