WWF-CEE IS LOOKING FOR: REGIONAL Communication officer

Full-time, permanent position
Location: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia or Ukraine

We’re currently looking for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated professional to join WWF-CEE as Regional Communications Officer, a master of words with a passion for connecting people. You will be coordinating the communication activities for selected regional projects and create well-optimized content to achieved project communication goals. 

The job holder will support the Regional Communications Team in the execution of the WWF-CEE communication strategy

This is the role and the key responsibilities: 

Coordinating of regional project communication

  • Serve as the main point of contact for aligning project communication materials for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all communication materials and activities include proper branding and consistent key messages.
  • Ensure all project deadlines related to communication activities are met.
  • Develop briefs and oversee the implementation of agency work for regional campaigns, including monitoring and evaluating agency performance.
  • Coordinate and ensure the implementation of planned communication activities
  • Organize physical and online events
  • Report on results from regional project communication activities

Creating communication materials for regional projects

  • Produce the communication materials initially included in the communication plan, prepared by the Regional Communications Manager
  • Produce high-quality, engaging content for various platforms, including press releases, articles, mailing, social media posts, and reports
  • Create both static and dynamic visual content for WWF-CEE social media channels and project purposes
  • Collaborate with and coordinate external parties to produce professional multimedia content, such as videos, infographics, and podcasts.

Support general WWF-CEE Communication activities such as

  • Create, curate engaging content for the WWF-CEE owned channels (social media and website)
  • Compose and distribute newsletters
  • Create databases related to specific communication activities upon request 
  • Support media monitoring activities
  • Support the Regional Communications Manager in the monitoring and reporting on the performance of the website, social media and newsletter performance and conferences, events, and staff engagement activities for corporate partners
  • Collecting data from national offices to maintain the strategic planning and reporting tool UpToDate 

The ideal candidate would have:

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications and/or public relations
  • Working with media and communications partners, producing communications materials and with campaigns and campaigning
  • Ability to collect, analyse, organise and transmit information effectively, including through production of communications materials (written, video and other) 
  • Ability to design and implement successful communication campaigns  
  • A team player, with the ability to work in an international environment, in virtual, cross-cultural teams 
  • Ambition, energy and drive, with a commitment to making a difference
  • Fluency in English, with excellent writing skills (native or close to native) 
  • Solid computer literacy and experience with website management
  • Alignment and identification with the core values of WWF: Courage, Integrity, Respect and Collaboration and the relevant behaviors 

The following would be an advantage:

  • Experience in non-profit or civil society organization
  • Knowledge and awareness of the issues and priorities of WWF (environment and nature conservation)
  • Experience working in virtual, cross-cultural teams within an international environment
